Hershey, naps, and school

We told the kids about the Hershey trip yesterday and they are super excited.  We are going to spend one night in a hotel this time and Karly is thrilled about that too.  She loves hotels!

Took the car in for a 1 pm appointment at the dealer yesterday and took Nolan out for a stroller ride while we waited.  He shocked me by falling asleep!  He's been getting up unusually early and is also getting over a cold, so he obviously needed it.  He ended up sleeping the whole two hours we were there so I had some nice quiet time sitting and reading in the customer lounge.  Of course then he had trouble falling asleep last night, which led to him falling asleep at 3:45 pm today when we were waiting to pick up Karly.  He didn't sleep too long though so bedtime was decent and he was asleep by 9 pm tonight.

He had a pretty good week at school this week, and he seems to be protesting less about going.  His teacher told me today that he is a very good boy and that he likes to help her.  I didn't quite get the specifics, but it sounded like she had him helping her carry things to another room and putting stuff away.  I know he loved that - he really does thrive on being important and helpful.  I was impressed that she had already picked up on this about him (especially since he doesn't talk at school!) and had provided some nice opportunities for him to help and feel important.

  2. My kids love Hershey Chocolate world. There's a ride you go on to see how Chocolate is made then you get a little piece when you get off the ride. We always go at least twice. Are you doing Hershey Park? I want to try that next year.

  3. Yes, we're going to Hershey Park! We are able to get discount tickets through my dad's former employer. This particular day the park is not open to the general public either so it is awesomely not crowded and also not too hot (although no water rides of course). We love it and have been going for years now!
