Weekend at Salisbury

We took advantage of the school holiday this past Monday and headed out of town for the weekend.  We left Saturday morning and stopped off on the way to pick up Grandma and Grandpa.  We then stopped for a quick visit with Ethan and Audrey.  Next was a dinner stop at "English's" chicken.  By this point, Nolan was getting quite impatient as to if and when we were actually going to arrive at Salisbury!  We did make it there by early evening and enjoyed a nice cozy fire in the fireplace to get the place warmed up.

We started off the next day with breakfast at Denny's and then headed back to the house for some backyard country fun - tractor rides, swinging, tire swing rides, zim-zam, flower-picking, and wildlife observing.  We also did a bit of raking and debris clearing.  The kids really liked pushing the wheelbarrow/cart around and giving each other rides.  They even found a few fish in the pond.

We went to OC in the afternoon and they actually had a few rides open.

Thrasher's fries and ice cream completed our visit and we headed back to Salisbury, with a playground stop along the way.  It was still a bit breezy and cool so we didn't last too long.

Monday, the weather turned much warmer and we had a nice zoo visit after breakfast at IHOP.

We headed back home that afternoon.  It was a great weekend and much needed getaway and change of scenery after what feels like a long winter at home!
